Chattanooga, Tenn. - Hamilton County Schools staff recognize school secretaries with White Glove Awards for outstanding support and services for families and staff.
The White Glove Award is given to school secretaries who go above and beyond to support their school and the district by providing meticulous care, attention, and service.
“Hamilton County Schools secretaries have always been the backbone of the school, the go-to person for staff, and the ones who go the extra mile for our parents and students,” said Lisa Clements, Executive Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent. “They create a culture of customer service that extends beyond the walls of the school. The White Glove Award was created to recognize these outstanding advocates in our school buildings.”
Hamilton County Schools prioritizes colleague appreciation, recognizing the critical impact and importance it holds. As the district works to express gratitude towards those who contribute to making Hamilton County a remarkable place, leadership recognizes that kudos from colleagues can go a long way.
Stephanie Cramer, Kelly Splawn, and Nina East are three of the first awardees. Each of these women was recognized in their communities for helpfulness, attentiveness, and advice. Their roles extend beyond merely managing the office; they provide a safe space for everyone interacting with their schools to feel heard and seen.
“Being nominated by my peers makes me feel very humbled and overwhelmed,” said Kelly Splawn. “I feel like I'm in this position, to begin with, to serve, but it makes me want to be a better person and to serve better…Plus, my coworkers are like family. We deeply care for each other and support each other and encourage each other.”
The White Glove Award is a testament to how coworkers can make a difference in each other's lives by recognizing their contributions and showing them they are valued and appreciated.
